In the summer of 2000, Vince Lombardi Jr. helped christen Vince Lombardi's Steakhouse as a world-class eatery and a landmark shrine to the man who put the Green and Gold in a league by themselves forever.
The restaurant continues to live up to its legendary billing by serving hundreds of guests each week amid an atmosphere that features more than 400 items of Coach Lombardi's personal memorabilia and classic Vern Biever photos from The Glory Years.
Diners find the atmosphere inspiring and a perfect complement to the mouth-watering prime steaks and superb wines that are featured. The collection of memorabilia includes orginal hand-drawn Lombardi football plays, Coach Lombardi's draft card and famous sunglasses, along with three "Coach of the Year" trophies (1960, '61 and '67) and a replica of the Lombardi Trophy (given annually to Super Bowl champs).
"My father enjoyed eating out with friends. A great meal, good friends and a couple highballs of scotch were his main form of relaxation during the football season," notes Vince Jr. "He would have loved this wonderful steakhouse."
The dining experience exemplifies Lombardi's commitment to excellence in every way, from the USDA prime cuts of beef to the various seafood entrees, generous sides, delectable desserts and one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world, as awarded by Wine Spectator magazine.
From the intricately crafted woodwork, hand-carved by local artisans, to the equally impressive service, the attention to detail at Vince Lombardi's Steakhouse is, in itself, inspiring. The Brunswick-style bar and lounge, plus private dining areas offer a perfect setting for special events, rehearsal dinners, and celebrations that require the high-level of service that Vince Lombardi's Steakhouse delivers to its patrons.
Voted among the favorite restaurants and steakhouses in the Fox Cities area year after year, Lombardi's has come to represent "the very best" in service, food, and beverage while proving that top-end restaurants have a place in the Fox Valley — and that Coach Lombardi's commitment to excellence approach is truly a recipe for success.
Vince Lombardi's Steakhouse is honored to have received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence consecutively every year since 2005 for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.
This prestigious award is part of a yearly recognition program by Wine Spectator magazine. Award recipients are selected through a review process by the magazine's staff. This year, more than 3,500 restaurant wine lists and dinner menus were reviewed for the honor.
Located inside the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton, Lombardi's has continued to build a reputation of excellence for its menu, wine list and service. It is considered one of the leading sports-themed restaurants in the country and is popular as a special backdrop venue for conferences and meetings at the hotel. 920-380-9390.
